Kill the Gay Bill

I learned this week about some disturbing Uganda politics. They are getting ready to pass a bill known as the "kill the gays bill" and it is getting support from some religious groups here in the US. This is horrible and leaves me nearly speechless. As a Christian, I am embarrassed that Christian groups would try to kill people in the name of God. Actually, I am disgusted at all the ways that some Christian groups try to impose their views on others.

On a related note, I think that judgmental Christians are the biggest enemy of the church. When you ask believers that don't go to church why they stay home on Sunday mornings, you will almost always hear an answer that is one form or another of them not wanting to be judged. It is not our right to judge other people, and certainly not to kill them for what we judge to be a sin.
